1:1 lessons for students in school or college – online and in person

For students in mainstream education – whether they will be sitting their GCSE maths exams for the first time or resitting them – I focus on supplementing their schooling by revisiting key topics, addressing areas of weakness, practising problem-solving and exam technique, and introducing them to new topics they’ve not yet encountered at school.

Everybody is different, but teachers cannot possibly cater their lessons to every single student in their class. Sometimes in the quest to cover everything on the syllabus, individuals are left behind.

Some lack concentration. Some suffer from maths anxiety. Some need a little longer to understand. Some lack key foundational maths skills. Some lack motivation or structure.

My lessons are not only tailored to each student in terms of their mathematical knowledge and ability, but their general learning needs. No student is the same, so no tutoring experience should be the same!

A student needs shorter lessons? Done. A student needs regular breaks? Done. A student needs more reassurance? Done. A student needs to go back to the basics first? Done. A student needs more exam practice? Done. A student wants to be challenged and learn new things? Done.

All students need a little kindness, empathy and patience to succeed.

I don’t expect my students to fall in love with maths – sometimes they simply want to pass their exams and get it over with, and that’s okay. That said, I’m very pleased to report that, based on the feedback I have received, I frequently make maths a more enjoyable subject for my students!

1:1 lessons for home-educated students – online and in person

As opposed to students in mainstream education, home-educated students may very well be relying on me as their primary source of maths tuition, and I take this responsibility extremely seriously.

For home-educated students, I provide structured and comprehensive tuition, working through the syllabus systematically, starting with foundational concepts and building on them progressively.

Learning doesn’t simply stop outside of our lessons: I provide home-educated students with structured homework tasks to supplement their 1:1 maths tuition.

Please note that I cannot arrange or facilitate GCSE maths exams for private candidates. It is your responsibility to find a suitable exam centre.

Small group sessions – online only

During the Feb half-term holiday, two-week Easter break, and May half-term holiday, I run lots of online revision classes for small groups of students sitting their exams in the summer. These are an affordable way to get extra practice and exam prep in. As a group, we work through past paper questions across a range of topics. Each session is completely unique and packed with useful information and practical strategies to help students feel more confident and prepared for their GCSE mathematics exams. Sessions are often grouped by tier, exam board, and target grades.
